DEATH COMES TO MRS. ADAMS
After Long Suffering, Wife of Circuit Judge Passes Away—Family at Bedside.
After long suffering, patiently borne Mrs. Anna Adams, wife of Circuit Judge John W. Adams, died late Wednesday night at her home west Kalamazoo avenue. Mrs. Adams' death had been momentarily expected since Monday when she had a sinking spell, which physicians expressed themselves as believing would terminate mortally. Members of her family had been constantly in attendance at her bedside for the past three days. The end came peacefully to the sufferer. Mrs. Adams was 35 years and six months old. She was born in Hamilton, Ontario, but in early childhood removed to Michigan with her parents. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Humphrey. The family came to Michigan 18 years ago. Mrs. Adams attended the public schools of Mendon and later the Ypsilanti schools, from which she was graduated. She was married to Judge Adams June 14, 1893, and of their union was one son, John Humphrey, who was 10 years old Tuesday. Other relatives besides her husband are her father, George E. Humphrey and three brothers, A. H. Humphrey, of New York and F. J. Humphrey and H. S. Humphrey of Kalamazoo. Her mother died last October at an advanced age. The funeral will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Adams was stricken three years ago and since, up to the time of her death, was a constant sufferer, at times severely. Previous to her illness she took an active part In affairs and was a leader in social circles. She had many friends who had long expected a mortal termination of her illness, but to whom the end comes with no less sadness.
