Services for Aubrey Odell Medlin, 81, of Hawkins were 2 p.m. Friday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. David Franklin and Bill Homes officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of English funeral Home of Hawkins. Mr Medlin died Thursday in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Gilmer and was a senior operator for Exxon Oil Co., a World War II veteran and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He also was a member of Hawkins Masonic Lodge No. 1293. He was preceded in death by grandson Scott Medlin in 1985 and by grandson Richard Conway Pownal in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Della Medlin of Hawkins; four sons, Alvin Medlin of Garland, Kenneth Medlin of Tyler, and James and Mick Medlin, both of Hawkins; two daughters, Joyce Harris of Holly Lake and Donna VanGorp of Hawkins; three brothers, Landis and Claudis Medlin, both of East Mountain, and Douglas Medlin of Rosewood; three sisters, Opal Davis and Jessie Harris, both of Gilmer, and Ruby Salter of Kaufman; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. - Longview News Journal
