After playing collegiate football at Northeast Missouri State, Elliott was selected by the Bengals in the 10th round of the 1973 NFL Draft. He appeared in 101 regular season games, with 1,900 career rushing yards and 8 touchdowns. In addition, he was effective when returning kickoffs on special teams. He died from a heart attack at age 57.
