William Thomas Albin was the husband of Sarah C Gwartney (also buried in Old
Salem Church cemetery) and son of George Henry Albin and Margaret Bruce.William Thomas Albin, was born April 17, 1805 near Cox's Creek Settlement in Nelson Co., KY. He and an older brother James, six younger sisters and one younger brother, George, who was 12 years younger, and who was crippled. He was the son of George and Peggy Bruce Albin and was named for his paternal grandfatheer. When William was about 2 yrs old, his sister Sarah was born and shortly afterward the family moved north across the Ohio River into Indiana Territory. William grew up in a log cabin on this frontier. When he was 7 yrs. Old, the war of 1812 was occuring with much of the confrontation being in that area of the country. Willaim was married when he was 18 years. old. (his brother James had married at 18 also). The court records for Harrison Co., Indiana contain this statement. State of Indiana Harrison County: William T. Albin of said county being duly sworn deposeth and sayeth that he heard George Albin father of Willaim T. Albin give him consent for his son William to Albin to intermarry with Sarah Gwartney and that one of the party usually resides in this county and that he knows of no lawful reason why the said Will T. Albin and Sarah Gwartney should not be married and further this deponent sayeth no."

Sarah, his wife, was 3 years older than William. They were married for 17 years and William died on July 24, 1840. He was only 35 years old when he died and was buried in the Old Salem Baptist Churchyard cemetery located about
about 5 miles S.E. of Corydon, Indiana. It is unknown why he died so young. He left 5 sons and 2 daughters.
