He was born in Carroll County, the son of Dr. G.W. and Mrs. Julia (Gillam) Crider. He came to Kokomo in 1923 and operated a drug store here for some time, after which he taught school for five years and then moved to Marshall county where he taught another five years. At one time he was superintendent of the Tippecanoe county schools, prior to which he taught school in Lafayette.
On April 7, 1897, he married Miss Gussie Waymire in Buck Creek. Mrs. Crider survives. Other survivors are a brother O.E. Crider and a sister, Miss Ruth Crider, both of Buck Creek.
Mr. Crider was a member of the Methodist church and the K. of P. lodge of Lafayette.
