Otto Leisner
Birth: Jan. 16, 1917
Copenhagen, Denmark
Death: Aug. 16, 2008

Television Personality. He was arguably the most popular host on Danish television in his time, where he was synonymous with light entertainment. His quiz-shows and a long number of family shows made him a favourite with audiences, and the Queen of Denmark made him a Knight of Dannebrog. Besides his work on television he translated hundreds of popular American and English songs into Danish. In 1987 he retired after 42 years' service with Radio Denmark. (bio by: Erik Skytte)
