Mrs. Marie F. Douglas

Mrs. Marie Fischer Douglas 91, Topeka died Tuesday, April 10 at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Douglas was a former secretary for Security Benefit Insurance, the State of Kansas and the Menninger Foundation.

She was born December 21, 1898, six miles north of Perry, the daughter of Louis B. and Edna Mattocks Fischer. She lived in or near Topeka most of her life.

Mrs. Douglas was a member of Central Park Christian Church, Beaulah Chapter No. 34 of Order of Eastern Star, Rebekkah Chapter No. 219 of Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Trinity No. 7 of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Lady Sheridan Tent No. 7 of Daughters of Union Civil War Veterans.

She was married to Robert A. Douglas May 14, 1935. He died in April 1969.

Survivors include three nieces Maxine M. Hobble and Reta L. French, both of Topeka, and Ann Fisher Fleming, Palos Verdes Estates, California and a nephew, Glen G. Allen, Topeka.

Graveside services will be at 1 pm Saturday at Oak Ridge Cemetary in Perry. Memorial services will be at 2:30 pm Saturday at West Side Christian Church. Mrs. Douglas will lie in state from 10 am Friday until 11 am Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Park Christian Church, 1535 Clay, 66604; the Villages, PO Box 1695, 66601; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
