East Palestine, Ohio - Donald E. "Posey" Hull, 74, of 900 West Martin Street, passed away 12:15 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Salem Community Hospital emergency room after becoming ill at home.
"Posey" was born June 10, 1933 in New Waterford, a son of the late Elmer O. and Myrtle Bretz Hull and had been a life time resident of the area. He had been a mechanic with the former Neil Motors and its successors as well as Firestone Tire and most recently with BFI, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Cornersburg. He was also a member of the Columbiana Allen Lodge # 276 F. & A.M. for over fifty years, the Royal Arch Masons, the Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown; and the Youngstown Shrine Club.
His first wife, the former Elizabeth "Betty" Torrence whom he married February 3, 1962, preceded him in death on March 7, 1994. He was also preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
Don is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Hill, whom he married November 8, 1998; a son, Donald A. (Gretchen) Hull, Leetonia; a daughter, Gina (Steve) Angelo, Canfield; a step-daughter, Lisa (Robert) Surrena, New Castle; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Doris Ogle, New Waterford, Marilyn Chiu, Canfield, Dorothy Merreot, Columbiana, and Doloras Whittington, Granville, OH.
Friends will be received 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Dale Giffin, his minister, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

On a personal note, Posey and Betty were close friends with my family. They will always be missed.
