Assigned as a rifleman to A Company, 48th Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division. During Operation Garden Market, he sacrificed his life in the vicinity of Oplooseweg and Kamphoef, just north east of Overloon, Netherlands.
Entered the military Sept. 29, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
