John Anderson Former Resident Died Saturday

FATHER OF THREE LOCAL RESIDENTS DIES SUDDENLY AT BEECHCREEK, PA. FUNERAL SERVICES HERE WEDNESDAY.

John Anderson, former well known resident of this place and Big Run, died last Sunday afternoon near Beech Creek, Clinton County, where he had resided with the John De Hass family during the past several years.

Mr. Anderson had gone to visit his daughter, Mrs. Rober Hevner, of near Beech Creek, last Sunday, March 9. He left the Hevner home at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon to return to his home, apparently in good health and the best of spirits, as he was making ready to come to this place for a visit. At about 6 o'clock his body was found in a shed along the road, not far from the Hevner home. It is believed that he had suddenly become ill and had enterred the shed to rest. A physician was summoned and an examination showed that death had occurred a short time before the body had been found. An examination of the body was made by the Clinton County coroner who pronounced apoplexy as the cause of death.

The deceased was aged 68 years. He was born in Ireland, a son of John and Katherine Anderson. He came to this country when a young man establishing his residence in Big Run in 1882. In February, 1884 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Yohe of Big Run. News of his sudden death came as a shock to his family and many friends. He was a member of the Christian church of Big Run.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: James Anderson, Mrs. Oscar Buhite, and Mrs. Merle Wolfgang, of this place; Thomas of Akron; Mrs. James Hevner and Mrs. Robert Hevner, of Beech Creek, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife and three sons.

Funeral services were held at the Oscar Buhite home on Hill Street here, Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2 o'clock. Rev. C.C. Ross of the Sykesville M.E. Church, officiated. Interment was made in the Big Run cemetery.
