FRED CHRISTENSEN HEART VICTIM, BURIED AT D-LAKE

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon July 18, for Fred B. Christensen, 47, who passed away on Monday following a heart attack. Services were held at the home conducted by Rev. Geo. Kirgiss and at Diamond Lake Lutheran church by the Rev. Kirgiss, with Rev. Walter Brown assisting. Interment was in Diamond Lake cemetery beside his parents.

Pallbearers were six nephews: Harlan, Ivan , Marvin, Stanley and Soren Meyer and Donald Christensen

The New Grove Mens Quartette accompanied by Mrs. Pearl Asbjornson, sang "Rock of Ages" at the home and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" at the church.

Fred B. Christensen, son of the late Christian and Sophia Christensen, was born at Brayton, Ia. Mar. 12, 1904 and passed away at his farm home south of Hendricks on Monday, July 16, 1951. Death was due to a heart attack.

At the age of ten years he moved with his parents to Lake Benton where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church

On Oct. 1, 1935 he was united in marriage to Dagmar Lund of Exira, Ia. at the Oak Hill Lutheran church, near Brayton, Ia.

Follwoing their marriage they settled on the home farm north of Lake Benton. Here they lived for eight years when they moved to their own farm, four miles south of Hendricks.

Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Christensen, five of whom survive:

His passing is mourned by his wife, Dagmar; three daughters, Ruth, Karen and Clarice, and two sons, Vernon and Richard, all at home. Five brothers and two sisters also survive.

The brothers are Andrew of Dent, Minn., Nels, of Exira Ia., Charlie and Albert of Lake Benton, and Einer of Sioux Falls, S.D. The sisters are Mrs. Christ Meyer of Lake Benton and Mrs K.J. Hansen, who now resides in Denmark.

His parents, two daughters who died in infancy, and one sister, Mary, preceded him in death.

Rev. and Mrs Geo Jennings of Minneapolis, Andrew Christensen of Dent, Mr. and Mrs Hy. Lee of Audubon, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Iversen and sons of Garvin, Mr. and Mrs. Einer Christensen, Mr. and Mrs Stanley Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Soren Meyer of Sioux Falls. S.D.

Mr. and Mrs Bennett Melby of Pipestone, Mr. and Mrs Peter A. Nielsen, Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Bartlow and Kathleen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Madden, all of Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Krenz of White S.Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jaspersen of Tracy.
