"KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Flora Herndon Ledford, 88,died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Hospice Cleveland County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Ledford; parents, Theodore and Minnie Randall Herndon; son, Mike Ledford; sister, Geraldine Blackwood; and brother, David Herndon.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ledford of Kings Mountain; brothers, Charles Herndon and Pat Herndon of Kings Mountain; sisters, Mary Sue Etters, Betty Lynn and husband, Percy, all of Kings Mountain; nieces and nephews, Norma McMurray and husband, Dale, Brent Herndon and wife, Kristie, Kim Hawk and husband, Thomas, Lori Herndon, and Ginger Hall; great-nieces and nephews, Heather McMurray, Kyle and Garrett Herndon.
She and her husband were owners of Kings Mountain Farm Center. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was church historian. She was a past member of Broad River Genealogical Society, Old Tryon Genealogical Society and DAR.
She loved local history, family genealogy, cooking, making jams and jellies, needlework, and quilting. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Memorial Service: Monday, Oct. 6, 2 p.m., Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Visitation: The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Christian Activities Center.
Burial: Private
