Birth: Aug. 26, 1920
Mount Emmons
Duchesne County
Utah, USA
Death: Oct. 2, 2008
Salt Lake County
Utah, USA

Frances was born on August 26, 1920 in Mt. Emmons, Utah on the day women received the right to vote in the United States. Daughter of William H. and Chloe Marsing Case (both deceased), she married Harvey Hatch on January 6, 1940 and they had 61 wonderful years together before he died in 2001.

Fran spent her happy childhood years in Duchesne, Utah, and later moved around the world with her husband. They lived in Oregon, Utah, California, Okinawa, Missouri, and Germany, and finally settled in Annandale, Virginia, where she spent 25 years working for the government in Washington, D.C. as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1980. Fran (as she preferred) was a person who loved life, worked to get the most from it, and "hopefully added something to others along the way," as she often said. The motto she lived by was taken from the LDS Church hymn, "Have I done any good in the world today, Have I helped anyone in need?" She had many opportunities for service, which she loved, and they began when she was a young girl and cared for her invalid mother. She enjoyed serving others as a Den Mother, PTA officer, Teen Club Director in Germany, American Legion Auxiliary officer, and officer in many women's organizations. She loved serving fellow church members in her beloved Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But her passion was her family and caring for her husband, three children, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Fran died peacefully at her home, being embraced and holding hands with many of her family members. She resided at 5944 South Village Three Road (1525 East) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.

She is survived by children Vicky (Jim) Mallock, Patsy (Marty) Nodilo, and Bill (Janet) Hatch. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren James Mallock, Kari (Jim) Hunter, Harvey Mallock, Francie (Aaron) Menlove, Shannon Mallock, and Starr (Mike) Smith, David (Victoria) Hatch, Kelly Hatch, M. J. (Julie) Nodilo, and John (Susan) Nodilo; and dearly loved great-grandchildren Jordan Hunter; Katie, Chloe, Jake, and Sam Menlove; Lennon Smith; Avery Nodilo; and Adam and Natalie Hatch.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood First Ward Chapel, 6350 South Rodeo Lane, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and at the Chapel one hour prior to the services.
