Milton S. Ferguson was the youngest child of William and Matilda Ferguson. He was born January 20, 1852, near Virginia, Cass County, Illinois. Brothers and sisters are as follows: James was born in 1836, William P. in 1838, Henry in 1840, Robert in 1841, John in 1844, Eliza, the only girl, was born in 1845, Stuart in 1850, followed by Milton in 1852. Milton's mother, Matilda, died in March, 1853. William soon remarried (Ann Boyle) and three more children followed - Samuel in 1854, Maggie in 1857 and finally Nanette in 1859.
Milton was raised in Cass County and married Minerva Emily Miller in Virginia on March 29, 1877. To this union the following children were born: Flora Ann in 1877, William Selby in 1879, George Milton in 1882, Guy Thomas in 1884, Benjamin Stuart in 1887, Hattie Gertrude in 1890, Glenn Keith in 1893, Capitola Marie in 1896 and James Robert in 1900.
About 1913 Milton and his family moved to Jersey County, Illinois and this is where he died.
