Lowell passed away at his home in Claremore on September 3, 2008, at the age of 73. The lifelong Claremore resident was born August 28, 1935, in Claremore, the son of Lowell O. Brown and Juanita Robertson Cook.
He was a 1952 graduate of Claremore High School and Northeastern State University. Lowell joined the United States Marines serving during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Lowell Brown Properties in Claremore for 25 years.
Lowell was an active member and held all offices of the Elks Lodge for 37 years and was a past District Governor of Oklahoma Toastmasters. He umpired little league and American Legion baseball games and was an avid college sports fan.
His parents, Lowell and Juanita, son, Robert James "Jimmy" Brown; and his brothers, Philip Cook and Gary L. Cook precede him in death. Family member surviving are his daughter, Debra L. Brown of Tampa, Fl, brother, George L. Cook of Claremore; uncle, Buddy Robertson and wife, Blanche of Claremore; aunts, Roberta Bennett and Marge Robertson of Claremore and Sarah Buckman of Tennessee.
