Born in Manchester to Claude D. Tilson Sr. and Catherine (Smith) Tilson.

He graduated from Manchester High School Central and, after serving in World War II, graduated from Boston University.

Mr. Tilson was the owner of Maico Hearing Services of New Hampshire for 45 years.

He was a member of First Congregational Church in Manchester for 67 years, serving on the board of Deacons and with the Senior Citizens Committee.

Mr. Tilson was also on the board of directors of the Webster House and the Gale Home.

He was predeceased by his wife of almost 46 years, Magda S. Tilson.

Family includes daughters Adair S. Tilson of Manchester, Victoria A. Tilson of Greenfield, Mass., Jeanine Bedard; one grandson; sister Margaret A. Tilson of Rochester; nieces and nephews.

Services were held in the chapel of First Congregational Church, corner of Union and Hanover streets, Manchester, with the Rev. Vera Wingate officiating.
