The funeral for Ruth Bridges Turner, 95, of Athens will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bud White and Mike Nix officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Turner died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Athens Convalescent Center in Athens, AL.
She was born May 12, 1914 in Limestone County, AL, to Grover Cleveland Bridges and Daisy McGlocklin Bridges.
She was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Thalcum Turner.
Survivors include sons, Bobby Turner and wife Carolyn, Harold Turner and wife Betty, all of Athens, and Roger Turner and wife Daisee of Trinity; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
