Alton Eugene Wise taught school in several Wiregrass (Southest Alabama) towns after graduating from the Baptist Collegiate Institute in Newton (Alabama). He then went to Washington, D. C., and worked for the Bureau of Internal Revenue until he retired in 1951 and moved to Tampa.
