Thomas G. Green, second son of William C. and Jane (Gaddis) Green, married 3 times. His first by whom he had 8 children was Ellen E. Kelsey whom he married 11 Sept 1866, Logan Co. IL. She was daughter of James H. and Ruth Ann (Gale) Kelsey of New York who had also settled in Logan Co. IL.
Thomas G. Green served in the Civil War as Private in Company F, Unit 30, Illinois Infantry.
Thomas was working as a night watchman the night of January 6, 1904, when a large transom light fell, crushing the bones and cutting the tendons of his right hand. The arm was amputated in Sept 1906 just below the elbow.
Thomas and Ellen were the parents of:
Lily M. Green, Mary E. Green, Clara Emma Green, Edwin G. Green, Elsie Green, Samuel Green, Charles Henry Green, and the youngest son, Gale Roberts Green, who was killed by a train in Ludlow, Kentucky in September 1905.
His second wife was Sarah Lovina (Smith) Marriner.
Thomas and Sarah had one child: Mary Green.
His third wife was named Jenny, who was a Mrs. Wiley with a son Robert Wiley, when Thomas married her.
