He was born near Stokesdale, N.C. which was then in Rockingham County. He and his parents and siblings were all members of Stokesdale Christian Church and Bud was a member of the choir.
After his 2nd child was born a fire destroyed their home and badly damaged the new buggy they had just bought.
He built a new 2 room house and added onto it until they had 6 rooms, enough room for Bud, Daisy and their 6 boys and 2 girls. The home still stands today and is held within the Angel family.

After Daisy passed away Bud married Adena "Dennie" Angel Flynn of High Point, N.C.
When Dennie died Bud went and lived with his oldest daughter, Myrl.
He passed away at age 82.
