Born February 12, 1930, in Texarkana, AR, he was the son of Easop and Melinda Abner Rambo. He and Catherine Jackson were married in Gainesville, TX, in 1954.
A resident of Marietta for many years, Mr. Rambo had made his home in Ada, OK, for the past four years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rambo was employed as a mix molder operator at the iron foundry in Gainesville and later was an employee of the City of Marietta. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, especially rabbits with hounds. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marietta. Preceding him in death were his parents; stepmother, Metha Rambo; three brothers, Alvin Rambo, Benjamin Rambo and Moris Rambo; sister, Juanita Rambo Dailey; and adopted sister, Mary Lee Talley.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Rambo of the home; two sons, Billy Wade Rambo, Jr. and wife, Pat of Dallas, TX, and Richard Lee Rambo of Ada; daughter, Barbara Rambo, also of Ada; six brothers, Eugene Rambo and wife, Janet of Marietta, Rueben Rambo and wife, Alice of Gainesville, Randall Rambo of Marietta, Caesar Rambo and wife, Reponzel of Oklahoma City, Nelson Rambo and wife, Marie of Marietta and Charles Rambo and wife, Charlotte of Ardmore, OK; five sisters, Bobbye J. Rambo Downing of Moreno Valley, CA, Janet Johnson and husband, Dale of Shreveport, LA, Dorothy Willis and husband, Michael of Marietta, and twins, Eva Douglass and husband, Lester and Neva Coleman and husband, James, all of Marietta; three granddaughters, Jessica Schilreff and husband, Jason, Elizabeth Rambo and Tamara Rambo; two great-grandchildren, Malachi Schilreff and Braylon Schilreff; and a host of nieces and nephews.
