After Barbara's aunt Apollonia (Abelone) Long Conkle died, Barbara married Apollonia's (Abelone) husband and Barbara's uncle,George Conkle Sept 25,1873 in Coshocton Co OH.

Obituary:
Mrs Barbara Conkle, the mother of Mrs A F Brown, died early last Saturday morning. She had made her home with her daughter since she came to Kansas several years ago. About ten days before her death she was taken ill with a fever, attended by violent diarrhea. To this attack a constitution already feeble speedily succumbed and passed away in the early hour of Saturday, the 23rd inst. The remains were buried the evening of the same day, the services being conducted by Rev E J Brown, pastor of the Presbyterian Church assisted by the pastor of the Methodist Church. Mrs Conkle was a Christian and a communicant of the Presbyterian Church. She died in the Lord and in the 62d year of her age. She leaves two daughters, one here and one in Ohio, to mourn a mother's death.
