Musician. A prolific session drummer, he contributed to hundreds of notable recording artists hits including Little Richard's "Tutti-Frutti" (1956), Fats Domino's "I'm Walking" (1957), Bobby Day's "Rockin' Robin" (1958), Ritchie Valens's "La Bamba" (1959) and Sam Cooke's "Twistin' The Night Away" (1962). After beginning his career during the 1940s as a member of Dave Bartholomew's band, he worked with Lloyd Price and contributed to Fats Domino's first hit "The Fat Man" (1949). Among the many other famed artists Palmer worked with are Ike and Tina Turner, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
