Silas Clark was in the War of 1812 from Nov 13, 1814 to May 1815. He served in the militia in Captain Henry West's company in the battle of New Orleans. For this service he was granted 100 acres on Ward's Fork of Jennings Creek in Jackson Co. Tennessee.
He was killed near the Cumberland River when thrown by his horse against a tree. A broken limestone slab marks his grave in the Clark Family Cemetery on Ward's Fork.
Silas Clark and Elizabeth Mills had 9 children together.

Dear Jenevia. I visited the Clark Family Cemetery April 4, 2015. The cemetery sets up on a small hill in a beach grove. It appears nobody has tended to this cemetery for years. Most of the stones were deteriorated. I photographed the limestone slab of Silas Clark. The slab was newer in comparison to other stones in the cemetery. I think the original stones for Silas and I presume his wife Elizabeth may still be there but the letters were worn away. The only other stone that was legible was for Ann Elizabeth Clark. A large tree may have fallen on the stone for her husband Alexander Clark. TJK
