Rites Held In
Graveside burial rites were held at five o'clock Monday afternoon at Fairax Cemetery for Elmer Bryon Freeman, Jr., who died in Italy, October 23, 1943, while on active duty in the service of his country. The pastor of the church of which he was a member, the Rev. Richard Crowe, conducted the short service.
A group of former friends and classmates served as pall bearers. These were Jack Fraley, Billy Harris, Owen glass, L. C. Garnett, Hugh Hood and Kermit Hood. Johnson and Company were in charge of arrangements.
Bryon Freeman was born on July 13, 1932 in Abbotsford, Ga. He
and his parents moved to Fairfax where he attended school and graduated from Valley High in 1940. he was a pupil student and athlete.
This beloved young man entered the U. S. Army in December 1942. He was an advanced Scout in the Infantry.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer B. Freeman, and his grandmothers, Mrs. F. B. Walker, of Fairfax; and Mrs. J W. Freeman of LaGrange.
