EGG HARBOR - Leona Lord Nachreiner, 92, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at her home in Egg Harbor. Leona Lord was born May 15, 1911, in Keysville, Wis., to John and Tillie Lord, the fourth of eight children. After a year of teaching school near Roxbury, Leona moved to Madison. Leona married Earl (Tom) Nachreiner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1931. Leona and Tom were baptized on the same day, but did not meet until Leona graduated from high school. They lived in Madison and raised three children, Marilyn, LaVonne and Thomas. In 1974. Tom retired and they moved to Valders; in 1988, Tom and Leona moved to Egg Harbor. Tom and Leona celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary at St. John the Baptist Church in Egg Harbor this past Thanksgiving Day. Leona is survived by her loving husband, Earl Nachreiner; daughter, Marilyn (Jerry) Piontek, Arlington Heights, Ill., and their children, Catherine (Bob) Ropetske, Steve Piontek and John (Julia) Piontek; daughter, LaVonne (David) Callsen, Ellison Bay, Wis., and their children, Kaaren (Steve) Northrop, Julie (Brad Pohlman) Callsen and Michael Callsen; and son, Thomas (Sue) Nachreiner, Mt. Horeb, Wis., and their children, Jason (Brenda) Nachreiner and Jessica Nachreiner. Leona is also survived by two sisters, Betty Ruppert and Genevieve VanSlyke; sisters-in-law, Mildred Lord and Marie Nachreiner, and brother and sister in-law, Ken and Elaine Nachreiner. Leona and Tom have nine great-grandchildren, from 25 years old to six months old, and many, many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass celebrating Leona's life will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, in Egg Harbor, Wis., at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.
