Kathlyn M. Sargent, age 92, passed away on Feb. 3, 2007, at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living, Sun Prairie. She was born on June 6, 1914, in Wausau, the daughter of Edward and Maude (St. Mary) Fitzgerald. Kathlyn was united in marriage to Ernest Sargent on Dec. 26, 1936, in Madison and they were married 18 days shy of 68 years of marriage when he passed away on Dec. 8, 2004. Mrs. Sargent was a longtime resident of Madison. She graduated from Madison West High School and was employed as a medical technician with Quisling Clinic for 22 years and the Dean Clinic for 12 years. Kathlyn was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Sun Prairie and the Elks. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time. Mrs. Sargent is survived by her daughter, Betty (Bill) Snyder of Sun Prairie; her grandsons, Scott Snyder of Madison, Steve (Laurie) Snyder of Plover and Shane Snyder of Madison; her granddaughter, Elizabeth (Glen) Weyenberg of Verona; her great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Pete) Cubica of Merrill, Natalie Snyder of Plover, Tony Snyder of Plover, Kaitlyn Snyder of Madison, Morgan Snyder of Madison, Aliyah Snyder of Ontario, Canada and Hailey Brooke Weyenberg of Verona; her niece, Jean Bassett of Madison; her nephews, Ron (Pat) Sargent of Madison, Wayne (Diane) Sargent of Janesville and Marvin Sargent of Madison; other relatives and friends also mourn her passing. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elaine Snyder and Mary Jeanne Parker; and brothers Clayton and Claire Fitzgerald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Feb. 7, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Catolic Church, 2420 St. Albert Drive, Sun Prairie, with the Rev. Michael Richel presiding. Burial will be held in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to HospiceCare Inc. The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Gardens for their wonderful care these pasts few months.
