Dave "Hawg" Hanner

Professional Football Player. He was born Joel David Hanner in Parkin, Arkansas and played at the defensive tackle position for thirteen seasons (1952 to 1964) in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers. He was a member and key player on two NFL championship teams (1961 and 1962 Packers). His other notable career highlights include two-time All-Pro selection (1957, 1959) and two-time Pro Bowl status (1953 to 1954). Hanner played collegiate football at the University of Arkansas and was chosen by the Packers in the 5th round of the 1952 NFL Draft. He would appear in 160 career regular season games. After retiring as a player, he served as defensive coordinator with the Packers. He was later a scout with the Chicago Bears and Packers. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1974. He died from a heart attack. (bio by: C.S.)
