He was born Ulysses Simpson Waller on November 19, 1890 in the town of Henderson, Henderson County, Kentucky to John Lee Waller and Martha "Mattie" Ferlines. He was one of 5 children; Carrie Cabble, Robert Edward Lee "Thummy" Waller Sr, Theodore Roosevelt "Peanuts" Waller Sr, and Grant Waller. On September 30, 1911, in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana, he married Savannah Georgia Pippin and from this union 6 children were born; Frederick Douglas "Fred" Waller, Alda Evelyn "Ben" (Waller) Woolridge, Lales Van Cecil "Les" Waller, Fleta Marie (Waller) Dimmitt, Ulysses Garland "Sparky" Waller, and Alois Reginald "Al" Waller. He also has a son Everett Lee Waller from a previous relationship. Ulysses worked as a foreman on a grain elevator at Home Mills Grain Company in Mount Vernon where he would basically work from sun-up to sun-down six days a week to support his family that he loved dearly. He died at 83 years old. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. My Great-Grandfather was laid to eternal rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana.
