She was a native of Burke, Tex. and lived in the Port Arthur area for 22 years. She was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church and the Woodmen's Circle.
Mrs. Jayroe will lie in state in the Levinston Funeral Home Chapel until Sunday morning. Then she will be taken to Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin for services at 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Ryan Chapel in Lufkin.
She is survived by one son, Charles A. Jayroe of Port Arthur; three sisters, Mrs. Iris Smith of Dibroll [sic Diboll], Mrs. Ruth Hines of Lufkin and Mrs. Josephine Thomas of Corrigan; one brother, Dewey P. Ballenger of Diboll; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
