Anchorage resident Aric Jason Beane, 33, died Sept. 15, 2006, in a plane crash on the edge of Denali National Park and Preserve. A celebration of his life was held at Hangar No. 4, 60500 Carl Brady Drive (first red hanger on the left).

Born Jan. 15, 1973, in Farmington, Maine, he graduated from Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine, in 1991. He graduated from Vermont Technical College in 1994 with a degree in civil technology. He married Crystal Chase Beane on Dec. 21, 1996. His family wrote: "In 1997, Aric and Crystal moved to Anchorage to live Aric's dream. Aric was presently working with CRW Engineering Group in Anchorage as a civil designer. "Aric was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his wife and daughter, Kaylea. Aric enjoyed sharing his Alaskan lifestyle with both friends and family. His daughter was daddy's little girl and the sparkle in his eyes. Aric and family spent almost every summer weekend fishing, rafting, and camping. Aric looked forward to his yearly hunting trip with buddy Alex Stack. Aric also enjoyed the Alaskan winter by spending his time snowmachining and most recently teaching his daughter how to ski."

Mr. Beane is survived by his wife, Crystal; daughter, Kaylea Rhae; mother, Irene Beane of Fairfax, Va.; father, Albert Beane of Rumford, Maine; siblings, Allison and Brian Benner of Woodbridge, Va., and Monica and Richard Sylvia of Springfield, Va.; grandparents, Frances Baillargeon of Milford, Maine, and William Beane of Skowhegan, Maine; several in-laws, nieces and nephews, mostly from Maine; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adrian Baillargeon and Alice Beane.
