Charles A. Patterson died at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nat Patterson near Wayne, June, the 27th 1901; he was 18 years 2 months and four days old. Charles had lived in the Republic County since childhood and all we were his friends. At the funeral held in the M.E. church in Wayne the whole community turned out to pay their respect and view the remains of one they loved. Rev Maue, pastor of the M.E. church at Talmo, preached a beautiful and feeling discourse after which the remains were laid to rest in the Wayne Cemetery.
