Oates Johnson, 80, Chestnut Street, SE, Decatur, died Saturday at a local hospital.
The funeral was Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Athens City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Gaston officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jennie Ora Johnson, Decatur; two sons, Roy Johnson, Moulton, and James Johnson, Decatur; five daughters, Mrs. Doris Pitman, Hartselle, Mrs. Bertha Holtzclaw and Mrs. Louise Allen, both of Decatur, Mrs. Beulah Crow, Romulus, Mich., and Mrs. Martha Flowers, Falkville; one sister, Mrs. Olivia Abernathy, Athens; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
