If German children were given two names, and the second name–not the first–is what you will find in records. This is because German boys almost always were baptized with the first name Johannes (or Johann, abbreviated Joh). So Johannus Paulus Ebling, would of been known to all as Paulus or Paul.

Paul was the son of Johannes and Maria Phillipena (Jaeger) Ebling, and the husband of Maria Bleiler. Paul 2nd wife was Frederiac Ebling. Frederica married a 2nd time to George Lasch on 16 Jan 1825 at Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was also known as Friedence Jerettel Ebling (born 1 NOV 1776, Alsace, Berks County, Pennsylvania). She died on 29 Mar 1836.
