Lt Chilver was a B-24 Bomber pilot with the 789th Squadron of the 467th Bombardment Group based at an airfield in Rackheath England. The 467th were called the Rackheath Aggies. On August 7, 1944 Chilver flew B-24H-15-F0-42-52565 named "My Deal" on Group Mission 93. Their traget was an oil storage depot at Ghent Belgium. After completing their mission, Chilver's plane crashed near the crossroads of Honeycomb & Sailhorse in the vicinity of Rackheath. Eight crew members, including Chilvers, were killed. One crew member was thrown from the plane and survived.
