The following is what was told to me by Gyry's great-granddaughter, who lives in Norway.
Gyry Nilsdotter Boen was born in Tinn, Norway on Aug. 8, 1838 to Nils Torgeirsson Espeland and Gunhild Oysteinsdotter Berge.
On Jul. 12, 1860 she married Svein Kittilsson Lisland. They moved to Boen in 1869 (very confusing with people changing their names when they moved farms).
Gyri and Svein had these children;
Anne born in 1861 (married and Overland and went to USA in 1898).
Gunhild born in 1862.
Kjetil born in 1864 (went to USA in 1889).
Nils born in 1865 (went to USA in 1891).
Hans born in 1867 (stayed in Norway).
Gyry born in 1869 (went to USA in 1891).
Gro born in 1871.
Aaste born on May 25, 1873 (renamed Alice after coming to USA).
Birgit born on Sep. 27, 1875 (renamed Bertha after coming to USA).
Ola born in 1878.
Oystein born in 1882 (renamed Austin).
