A daughter of Francis Cox Gravely & Sarah Allen Holman.

Belle attended State Normal School in Farmville, Prince Edward County, VA.

The Death of Mother and Son within the space of several hours of each other in Henry County during the past weekend, is reported here.

Mrs. Bell Gravely Payne, 77, wife of the late M. F. Payne, Sr., passed away suddenly at her home near Axton Friday morning following a brief illness. Death was due to a heart ailment.
The deceased was a life long resident of the Axton community. Malcolm F. Payne, a son, and World War Veteran, who was gassed while in service in France, died Saturday evening after several years illness.
Funeral service for the two were held jointly Sunday afternoon from the home. Interment was made in the family burial ground near the home.
Surviving are the following children: William and Neal Payne, both of Huntington, W. Va., Frank Payne of Roanoke, Roy and Isabelle Payne, both of Axton, Va.
The husband and father preceded the deceased members to the grave about two years ago.
