The loss is roughly estimated at $40,000. An ember ignited the six-room house occupied by the ranch foreman. It was an entire loss as were those autos on the ground floor of the apple house and one parked in the yard. It is the theory of officers that gasoline being stolen from one of the cars ignited and was the first indication of a fire.
Remember, in 1945 we were in WWII and gas was rationed. He was 43. Survived by children: Beverly W. and Nina L.
