He passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Brainerd, Sunday, August 25th at 7:30 a.m. He was born at Pierz in 1906. Friends and relatives called at the Hoenig Fuenral home, Brainerd, until the service hour.
He leaves to mourn, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Gross of Lastrup; a son Alfred, and the following brothers and sisters: Alex, International Falls, MN; Frank, Gertrude and John, Jr., Lastrup; Herman, Henry, and Rheinard, St. Cloud; and Mrs. Francis Dupont (Agnes), Portland, OR.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Lloyd Gross, Donald Gross, Ed and Alex Schmidtbauer, Glen Eisel and Robert Gustafson.
