Actor. He is considered the greatest Danish actor of his generation. The son of actor Elith Reumert, he made his debut in 1902 at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen where, except for a few brief periods, he was the leading figure as an actor and a teacher till the end of his career in 1967. He made several guest appearances in Paris, Belgium and the Nordic countries. From 1910 he appeared in a number of films, both Danish and Swedish, and he was a frequent guest on radio and TV, but it was on the stage that he felt at home and where he created most of his nearly 500 roles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Icelandic-born actress Anna Borg, who was born in 1903 and died in 1963 in an air crash in Norway. (bio by: Erik Skytte)
