AT HOME NEAR BOGARD
Emma Logan Gilbert was born near Wheeling, Livingston county, Missouri, February 13, 1867. She was the eldest of eight children of James Byrd and Madaline (Bowden) Gilbert and received her education in the schools of her county.
On December 12, 1889, she was united in marriage to David B. Hall. They were the parents of two children, Irma Lee, wife of Otto L. Sauer, and George Irvin, who passed away May 8, 1905, at the age of 12 years. The family resided at Cripple Creek for a period of 16 years. They also spent several years in the states of Washington, Idaho, and Kansas.
The husband preceded her in death, Oct. 24, 1919.
On February 27, 1923, she was married to Sylvester B. Isom, and had since made their home near Bogard.
At an early age she obeyed the Gospel at Blue Mound, Mo., under the preaching of elder B. F. Knox
She is survived by the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Otto L. Sauer of Victor, Colo., and five grandchildren: Glen O. Sauer of Colorado Springs, Colo., David Dale Sauer of Victor, Colo., Mrs. Alfred Cole of Cripple Creek, Colo., George Forest Sauer of Darwin, Calif., and Shirley Ann Sauer of Victor; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Josie Kinsey of Kansas City, and Mrs. Cora B. Cain of Bogard. Her parents, three sisters, and two* brothers preceded her in death. *(s/b 3 brothers)
She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage early Tuesday morning, June 17 at her home and never regained consciousness.
