Williams, Delbert Leon, Sr., age 83 of Maryville, died on February 11, 2007. He was born July 22, 1923. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. He was a Charter Member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and attended Friendsville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Bowerman Williams; parents, Claude and Ithel Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Margaret Williams of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Junior Ford, Jenny and Jim Widener, Cynthia and Jerry Marrow, Mary Lou and Frank Reynolds all of Maryville, Lisa and John Thayer of Murfreesboro; step-children, Debra Younce, Kathy Brewer, and Richard Brewer; grandchildren, Sandy Ford Hendessi, Kim Ford Hatcher, Rebecca Williams Auble, and Melissa Williams Fipps, Tim Wilson and Marty Widner, Heather Chunn Grady, Sharon McGuffey Silence, and Taylor Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Williams, and Willard Williams; sister, Betty Williams Galloway; 8 nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Obie Campbell officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Zions Chapel Cemetery for the interment service with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:00 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendsville First Baptist Church Building Fund, 403 North Farnum Street, Friendsville, TN 37737.
