US Congressman. He graduated from the Medical College of Indiana in 1890 and relocated to Newberry, Michigan in 1904. From 1908 to 1914, he was a member of the Newberry School Board and a member of the Michigan State Senate, 1923 to 1926. In 1927, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventieth Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 1933. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served as the senior member of the Michigan State Hospital Commission, 1935 to 1937. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
