Joy Hazel McLachlan was born on January 25, 1906, in Colorado, her father, James Malcom, was 41 and her mother, Margaret (Peters) McLachlan, was 30. She married Verle Wesley Penfold the son of Frank Charles and Della (Teagarden) Penfold on November 25, 1922, in Longmont, Colorado. They had two children during their marriage. Joy was a pastor, of the Full Gospel Church in Pasadea, California, teaching others how to love unconditionally, how to be the very best in all they do and giving their all to God and family.
We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends and colleagues, many of whom over time also became friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end on December 30, 1989, and is to be buried at Forest Lawn Freedom Mausoleum, in Glendale, California. She made a difference in the lives of many. We invite you to join us and celebrate together.
