1.) LAST RITES HELD TUESDAY FOR R. GRENAWALT

Former Lamoni Man Passed Away At Wadsworth, Kan., Veterans' Hospital,
Joseph Ralph Grenawalt, son of John and Fannie Grenawalt, was born in Harrison county, Missouri, July 4, 1879. When he was a small boy his father died and the family moved to Lamoni where he went to school and in later years engaged in the clothing business with his brother, W. A. Grenawalt, at Lamoni and College Springs, Iowa, and later had his own business in Garden Grove, Iowa, for 10 years.

He was married to Miss Cora Cochran November 21, 1906, at Williston, N. D. He was n member of the Reorganized LDS church, having been baptized by Bishop E. L. Kelley in 1902.

He enlisted in the service of his country during the war with Spain when he was 18 years of age. In 1925 the family moved to Independence, Mo., and has lived in Jackson county continuously since.

He has been in failing health since 1928 and he has been in the Wadsworth, Kan., veteran's hospital since November, where he passed away March 4.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora M. Grenawalt, of the home, a son, Lt. H. A. Grenawalt, in France with Uncle Sam's forces, and a daughter, Mrs. Frances Tindall, of Independence; four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Moroni Treater of Lamoni; and Mrs. Israel A. Smith of Independence, and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 10.30 Tuesday morning at the Speaks Funeral Home in Independence. Elder Evan A. Fry delivered the sermon, assisted by Elder Ephraim Brown. Burial took place in Rose Hill cemetery in Lamoni.

2.) GRENAWALT- Joseph Ralph Grenawalt, 65, 318 North Cedar avenue, Intercity district, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, died yesterday at the Veterans facility in Wadsworth, Kas.

He was born in Harrison County, Missouri, and had lived in Jackson County twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora M. Grenawalt of the home; a son, Lieut. H. A. Grenawalt in France; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Tindall, 207 North Crysler, Independence; and two sisters, Mrs. Moroni Trakler, Lamoni, la., and Mrs. Israel A. Smith, 1214 West Short, Independence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Speaks chapel. Burial will be in Lamoni.
