Raymond John Barstow

Raymond John Barstow, 69, of 3 Prospect Park, died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 1:15 o'clock Saturday morning.

Mr. Barstow had been in declining health for the past several years and had spent much time in the hospital. He suffered a severe heart attack Friday night at his home and was admitted to the hospital at 11:45, an hour and a half before he died.

He was born July 20, 1894, in Burlington, VT, a son of Romeo and Laura Morse Barstow. He attended schools in Burlington and on June 20, 1929, he married Miss Helen Harris. The ceremony was performed in the Methodist Parsonage at Ogdensburg by the Rev. Mr. Raymond.

They came to Massena 35 years ago, and Mr. Barstow was affiliated with the Barstow Store for many years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Frederick C. Barstow, Sudsbury, MA, Russell E. Barstow, Massena, and Thomas R. Barstow, Whitesboro; one daughter, Miss Sally Barstow, a student in New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Telford (Marion) Cheever, Tampa, FL and Mrs. Dorothy Rice, Massena; four grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Emmanuel Congregational Church.
