Merrill L. Farthing, 98, of Iron Mountain died May 6 in Cheyenne.
He was born on Dec. 23, 1903, in Cheyenne.
Mr. Farthing was a rancher with the Farthing Ranch.
He married Grayce Moore on Feb. 10, 1934, in Greeley, Colo.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Cheyenne Lodge #1, AF & AM, Newcomen Society, Wyoming Consistory #1, American National Cattleman's Association, Cheyenne Country Club, Westerners, Laramie County Predator Control Board and Wyoming Stockgrowers Association.
Mr. Farthing is survived by a son, Charles Farthing of Iron Mountain; two daughters, Merrilyn Segr est of Albuquerque, N.M., and Betty Bishop of Cheyenne; a companion, Maxine Keefe; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grayce Farthing; a brother, Tom Farthing; and two sisters, Helen Bond Peasley and Betty Forde.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bob Garrard and Rev. Carl Beavers officiating.
Burial will be at Beth El Cemetery.
