Leaving the Kentucky/Tennessee area immediately after the Civil War, Henry W Sublett made his way first to Yell County, Arkansas before settling in the Comanche County Area of north central Texas. His infamous claim to fame was his association with Champ Ferguson who is listed as having been hung following the Civil War for the commission of war crimes. Henry he been listed as a farmer and a sheriff by vocation.Family tradition has it that Henry W. Sublett and four of his brothers went to California in the Gold Rush. Married Sophia Mills Elliott in 1857 or 1858.
