The Rev J H Hudson, 65, of Route 4 Arden, died unexpectedly Thursday in an Asheville hospital.
He was a native of Henderson county, a son of the late Claude and Annie Benson Hudson. He was a retired employee of Cranston Print Works, where he had been employed for 25 years. He served as pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church and other churches in Henderson and Buncombe counties, and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Annie Mae Praytor Hudson; five daughters, Mrs Frank McMinn, Mrs Robbie Ball and Mrs Tommy Davis of Arden, Mrs Carl Hill of Germantown, NC, and Mrs Harry Jackson of Fletcher; seven sons, Woodfin and David Hudson of Fletcher, Johnny and Ray Hudson of Arden, Odell and Dean Hudson of the US Army, stationed in Germany; two sisters, Mrs Dorothy Meece of Arden and Mrs Bertha Branch of Fletcher; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held Sunday at 2 pm in Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Revs Roy Rector and Allison Robinson officiated. Burial was in Shepherd's Memorial Park.
