Walter W. Metzger, peacefully, on Sunday, August 17, 2008, at his residence. Walter W. Metzger, in his 82nd year of Waterloo, formerly of Elmira. Son of the late Aaron and Mary (Weber) Metzger. Dear brother of Mildred and Leonard Frey of Waterloo, and Mabel and Merrill Hunsberger of Waterloo. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by one brother, Arthur Metzger and one nephew, Kenneth. Walter was president of Metzger Produce and owner of Riverdale Poultry. Along with his partner, Ken Freiburger, they owned and operated KNF Poultry. Walter was involved with a number of local community activities and organizations which he supported. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Tuesday, August 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, transfer will be made to the Elmira Mennonite Church for funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steven Janzen officiating followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. In his memory, donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation - Cardiac Care Unit would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
